Dublin, Ireland

The next couple blogs will not have a ton of descriptions because I am working hard in school! I have never had to write so many papers in my life! I have...
-a paper on the production of the soft drink industry due for economics - 10-15pages
-a 10-15 page paper on Belgium's Dutroux Incident
-a 10-15 page paper on the merger of Scherling-Plough and Merck
-a 5 page paper on Belgium's economy
-a 15 page paper on my internship
All due May 4th.

WISH ME LUCK!

BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND!
University

An adventure: we took a train to Galway.  The train did not tell us that we had to switch platforms halfway there. We ended up in a little town....very little.
Below, are the train times for the town got off in....
So.....
We took a taxi with the 8 other people who had the same issue.
Above are 3 of the Germans we made friends with and Kristine on the far left - in the back of the taxi van.
I sat up front with Kylie and the driver.  We saw lots of sheep on our adventure. And tractors. And amazing scenery.
It was an hour taxi ride. The train company paid for it.
We finally arrived!
We stayed in Galway for the day...then...
BACK TO DUBLIN!
Kylie and I at the Guinness factory museum!
It was seven floors high! Lots of interesting information!
We got to learn how to poor our own Guinness!
We had a complementary glass of Guinness at the top - with a panoramic view!
Continuation of our exploration of Dublin....
Jameson Distillery!
I was a volunteer taste tester of different whiskey's around the world.  My favorite was the scotch - Johnny Walker!
More of Dublin!

Below, we went to Kilmainham Jail.
Very interesting.
Jail cells.
Tour guide.
During the Potato Famine the number of people in the jail rose significantly.
This is mainly due to the increased begging and stealing - both of which were illegal at the time.
More jail cells.
Many of the people in here were political activists.
Many were sentenced to be hanged or shot.
Castle in the middle of Dublin:
Below, there were signs to tell you which way to look while you were crossing the street.
Cultural blip: PEOPLE WERE SO FRIENDLY. Nicest people i've meet in Europe so far.  Everyone drinks.  Older and younger people are at the bars, mixed together.  They love to dance and share their culture with you! Note: cars do not stop for you in Dublin.
